The Abu Garcia Revo STX is the latest model in a timeline filled with innovative features and strong reels for the entire Revo collection of reels. The range is so strong that it is often seeing people convert from other reel manufacturers.
Abu Garcia are as cool as ever with their comments about the reel and when they say "You too will claim it as your own "favorite" fishing reel" they mean it and its hard to argue with them.
The low profile design of the revo STX makes it very comfortable to hold. It weighs less than 9 ounces and feels comfortable with any rod combo wether you are palming or not. When hearing that the reel was designed for bass anglers I was taken by surprise when it easily casts almost any lure and is capable of freshwater fishing too.
The reels are packed with features that help to improve its overall performance and its durability. The STX for example has features like the Abu Garcia Carbon Matrix Drag system, HPCR and shielded stainless steel bearings, Linear Magnetic Brake system, Titanium Nitride wormshaft, Infini Spool II system, and much more.
The reels are excellent casters and will suit most lures. The external cast control adjustment is an added bonus and you really miss the feature after you change reels. Retrieves are glorious and powerful for when you need that stopping power. The only downside, which in all honesty cannot be argued, is the high price, which shows this is a top end reel and its definatly worth the money.
